Family-Based immigration Attorneys
Do you want to bring your foreign spouse or minor children to the U.S. to live? You will need to prove you can support your relative and that you are an American citizen.
We can help you with all the paperwork and help your family member file a petition for family-based immigration. Once the petition is approved, your family member will be assigned a visa number immediately.
Visas for relatives other than spouses and minor children are granted according to a preference system:
- First preference: Unmarried, adult sons and daughters of U.S. citizens. Adult means 21 years of age or older.
- Second Preference: Spouses of lawful permanent residents, their unmarried children (under twenty-one), and the unmarried sons and daughters of lawful permanent residents.
- Third Preference: Married sons and daughters of U.S. Citizens.
- Fourth Preference: Brothers and sisters of adult U.S. Citizens.
Child Status Protection Act
If your son or daughter is approaching age 21, please consult us as soon as possible. Under the Child Status Protection Act, we can preserve your child's status as a minor if the petition for immigration is filed before the child's 21st birthday.
Child Citizenship Act (CCA)
The CCA allows any child under the age of 18 who is adopted by a U.S. citizen and immigrates to the United States to acquire immediate citizenship.
